My name is Jordan. It was year 1692 when i died. I lived in a town called Salem, Massachusets. I had a husband and four small children. We had a farm. My family and i went to church every sunday. We said prayer befor every meal. But then strange things started happening in Salem. People began accusing each other of witchcraft. Im not sure how my name was ever brought up in court, but men came to my house one night and arrested me. I sat in jail for weeks. Finally i was taken to court and tried. A young girl accused me of sending my spirit out to her in the night.
"Confess! Confess and you shall be free! Come back to the light of the Lord and he shall save you woman! Turn from the devil!" said the judge.
"I know nothing of witchcraft. I am innocent. I know God and love him."
"Then you shall hang you witch!" he screamed. Then men took me back to jail. I was terrified. I was a godly woman, I was saved at 9 years old. I had never done anything and they didnt beleive me. But what was i to do? By telling the truth I would be killed. But if i lied and confessed to witchcraft my name would forever be staind. But I knew what was right. I would stand for what i beleived in.
The next day they came for me. I stepped out of the putrid jail into the sunlight and it hurt my eyes. I was pail from the weeks in that retchet place. They took me to the gallows. There were other faces i knew standing beside me. Some where crying, some were praying quietly to themselves. But i looked out into the crowed that had gathered to watch us die. There was my family. My Three boys and my baby girl where clinging to my husband crying. I stepped up to the noose. A man slipped it around my neck. I said one last prayer in my head and dropped to my death.
I look down from heaven now and see my family growing. There are others up here with me from salem. And now i just wait for my family to join me.

WAR
War, Afganistan, middle east, Taliban...any of these words sound familiar? They have been bouncing around on the news and radio for a few years now. Have you ever paid attention though, to what is going on? Why has there been fighting in these places for so long?
The book The Kite Runner is an awsome story about two young boys, one rich and privelaged, and the other his servant; and they grew up in Afganistan. The story is complex and tells about the boys relationship, family struggles, keeping secrets, and not standing up for what you beleive in. But the book also opened my eyes to what is going on in those countries. Fighting and war has been going on there for years. Afganistan used to be a beautiful, prosperous country and only a few short years later it turned in to practically a pile of rubbel like we know it today. Amir, the rich boy in the story, and one of the main characters, had to leave his home in Afganistan in hiding to go to America. He went back to his home in the middle east years later only to find it destroyed by war. There were dead bodies in the streets, trucks with Taliban members riding in the back with guns ready to shoot any one who difies them.
We hear about the war and fighting going on over seas but did you ever think about why its happening? Did you ever think that the people in those countries hurt just like we do? They feel pain when they see their family members shot in the streets, or when they get their leg blown off by minefield. Real struggles and pain are going on and we hear about it almost everyday but we dont really think about it. This book kind of gave me a reality check. Now, when i hear about the war on the news it doesnt just turn into white noise that i tune out, I listen and feel compassion for the people who are having to deal with it in real life.
